Remember when 50 was going to retire? Ugh. Not that anyone believed it for a second, you know, but for some reason he found it necessary to taunt us by announcing a release date a week before Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreak. Kanye puts out his first non-education LP, 50 Cent continues the “tortured soul” routine that I guess thug rappers have to do ever since Biggie forecasted his death with Before I Self Destruct. Apparently this will be his last record for real this time, because he has one more album after this on his contract and it’s a greatest hits record. You know, until he gets bored with hawking Vitamin Water and releases a tepid comeback record with no singles that goes diamond. Fuck!

Before I Self Destruct drops December 9th.
