Death Row: where "West Coast" means "Vancouver"
That’s right: Death Row has been bought out by Canadians.
The recently bankrupt Death Row records, has been purchased by Toronto-based Wide Awake Entertainment for $18 million. Elsewhere, their auction yesterday was a huge success, attracting over 200 bidders sparring for 400 items: 17,000 copies of Tha Doggfather sold for four cents apiece, A pallet of old working TVs sold for $15, and the art proofs for Tupac’s All Eyez On Me went to LA DJ Skee for $600. So what are the Canadians buying, exactly?
