Kanye's life-long boycott of VMAs to end after one long year
One year after vowing to never again perform at MTV’s Video Music Awards, Kanye West will close out the show’s 25th annual ceremony in Hollywood on Sunday night.
Kanye’s boycott of the event was in response to the decision to relegate last year’s performance to a side stage (which was sort of a weird decision), what he viewed as the exploitation of Britney Spears (sort of has a point there), and, of course, the fact that he did not win every single award that was handed out. Hopefully they can clear those problems up so we don’t have to stare at an empty stage for an hour before the
final credits roll.
T.I., Kid Rock, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, and the Jonas Brothers were also announced as performers. Britney Spears is also slated to do something to open the show, but it is not a musical performance. OK…I’m intrigued.
