Lil Wayne to re-release Carter III
Weezy was all over the place at last weekend’s BET Awards. He claimed awards for Best Lyricist and something called “People’s Champ,” and he performed with T-Pain and Ludacris. But most notable was his weekly update on what exactly he is doing with his time.
During one of his acceptance speeches the self-proclaimed “best rapper alive” announced that he will be re-releasing Tha Carter III in the very near future. It will include a whole bunch of new songs, so basically this is one of those things where they convince the same people to go and drop money on the same damn album they already spent money on. And they wonder why people obtain their music by illegal means.
Wayne was very clear that the new songs are in no way connected to his next album, Tha Carter IV, on which he has already begun work.
Also, he’s having a baby boy. Congratulations, Weezy!
The BET Awards air on Thursday night. BPM will have a review on Friday morning.
