New Kanye album revealed at listening party
About 700 lucky guests were on hand to be among the first to hear 808s and Heartbreak, the controversial new Kanye West album. Among those guests were Jimmy Kimmel, Mos Def, and Rick Ross (not the real Rick Ross).)
So I imagine everyone is wondering the same thing right now…and the answer is a resounding YES! Kanye’s voice WILL be filtered through that damn auto-tuner on every single song. And if you like Kanye’s rapping you will have to wait at least until June. That’s when his next LP is set to drop. The album also features cameos by Young Jeezy and Lil Wayne, who may or may not be rapping…it’s still a little unclear.
But for the 700 guests, the thrill of hearing the album paled in comparison to the overall weirdness of the event. The music was set against a bizarre visual art show designed by Vanessa Beecroft. 40 nude women wearing fake lamb’s wool masks provided the backdrop. Black girls stood in the front, white girls in the back. Other stuff was going on. Or something.
This is going to be a hell of an autumn.
