On October 21, Ludacris plans to release his sixth album for Def Jam, Theater of the Mind. The album is setting up to be quite an ambitious project, blending the star’s rap and acting personas by, as Billboard puts it, “comprising tracks envisioned as short plots from movies.” I’m not entirely sure what that means but it sounds interesting. The album will feature “co-stars” T-Pain, The Game, and T.I., and will include production credits from Dre & Vidal and 9th Wonder.
One guest who Ludacris has yet to secure is the suddenly reclusive Eminem. But he has made it clear that he is interested in teaming up with Mr. Mathers on Theater of the Mind.
The album is just the tip of the iceberg for Luda’s October schedule. In addition to the release he will be appearing in two films, the Guy Ritchie directed RocknRolla, and the film version of the popular video game Max Payne.
