Snoop drops by Nation of Islam convention
This morning I got up at 4:00 to drive my sister to the airport. On the way there I noticed a billboard that said “FARRAKHAN” in giant letters. The sign was clearly meant to look like a movie advertisement and I though, “Huh…that should be interesting.” Then I realized that it was actually just a misleading billboard for the Nation of Islam convention and I felt slightly less interested.
Well, as it turns out, the Nation of Islam convention is more interesting than it sounds. Snoop Dogg dropped by the Rosemont Theatre in Rosemont, IL today to help the Nation celebrate Saviour’s Day, the birthday of the Nation of Islam’s founder Master Fard Muhammad. Snoop showed up in a dark suit and tie and sunglasses, praised Minister Farrakhan, and declared himself the leader of the hip hop community (apparently Snoop’s been so stoned that he hasn’t realized fifteen years have gone by.) He also donated a whopping $1000 to the Nation.
T.I. also appeared via satellite to share his belief in the importance of education. You tell’em Tip!
