After writing that last story, this one cheered me up a little. It’s from Young Jeezy’s inaugural ball D.C.‘s Club Love last night. Other attendees included T.I., Beyonce, Akon, and a host of others. The sound isn’t great, all you see is the backs of their heads, and they never perform the actual song. But Jay-Z’s lines are clever and the sheer happiness of the performers and the crowd is overwhelming.

My president’s black / But he’s also half-white
So even to the racist mind / He’s half right
Even in these racist times / We alright
